LUFC Youngster taking a break at the Kit Kat

Young Leeds United defender Liam Darville is currently training with York City of the Blue Square Conference.

The 19 year old has been given permission by Leeds to feature for the Minstermen in their two pre season games against Barnsley and Scunthorpe at the Kit Kat Stadium this week.

The defender is a product of the Leeds United Academy and is yet to feature in a competitive first team game for United.

He made his debut for Leeds in pre season last year in the opening game at York City.

Darville was a regular in the Leeds reserve side last season and joined League Two side Rotherham United for a loan spell towards the end of the season.

This was cut short without him making an appearance for the Millers after a clash of heads during training saw him return early to Elland Road.

I hope this doesn't spell the end for him at Elland Road, another youngster who looks good enough to step upto the first team. We let Falkingham go last season which was wrong in my opinion. We need more home grwon talent given a chance at Elland Road.

Liking the title Dazza lol. Hopefully it's just to give the lad some experience with maybe a view to sending him out on loan again?

I hope thats the case, he's definitely one for the future and shouldn't be dropping into non league football.

I think this could be the end of the line for Liam. No talk of a loan in the Official report (unlike Tom elliotts deal at Rotherham) so to me it looks like a 'suck it and see' deal for York to sign him.

He played on Tuesday, I think he's on his way from Elland Road which is a huge shame.
