LUFC Leeds wrap up sixth signing of the summer

Leeds United have continued their summer signing spree with the capture of midfielder Lloyd Sam from Charlton Athletic.

Sam becomes the sixth signing of the summer and he has signed a two-year deal with the option of a further year.

The 25 year olds contract was up in the summer at Charlton and he was attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs.

He`s described as a tricky winger and is comfortable on either flank.

Sam, who was actually born in Leeds, has spent the whole of his career in the south of England, apart form a very short loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.

He`s won one cap for England at under 20 level and scored in the game against Russia in 2005.

Sam played 42 times for Charlton last season and helped them to the end of season Play offs where they eventually lost to Swindon Town on penalties in the semi final.

I love a fast tricky winger who scares the living daylights out of defenders. The only thing that he doesn't do is score enough goals for a midfielder but he does have a good percentage of assists. If he can set up 25 goals a season I will be happy. I think the main thing this shows is Max Gradel is going to be a bench warmer again. Another one who has cost us nothing, I don't care if they cost us £1 million or nothing as long as they do the job. In my eyes another good bit of business by Leeds. Hopefully this means we have got a bit of money to splash.

A tricky winger and is comfortable on either flank...I wonder is Grayson going to play more down the channels with Snods playing on the right flank? There will be a lot of places up for grabs in midfield a area that needed sorting...

I'll be happy if the only bit of money we do end up spending this window is on Hooper! I think Grayson so far has done a pretty good job of signing, for the most part, the pick of the off conract players available. and with one more strong midfielder and a key striker, i think we'll be starting to look a decent threat in this league!

Good midfielders dont NEED to score a lot of goals (David Batty being a true example) but would have liked a Gary Speed style player aswell

Looks like Gradel really upset the manager on the final day, think thats put him further down the order.
