'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Grayson committed to Leeds

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson has been quick to quash rumours linking him with the vacant managers job at Leicester City.

Grayson has just guided the club he`s supported since a boy back into the Championship and doesn`t see himself anywhere else at this moment.

Speaking in the YEP, Grayson said,: 'I've just got a team into the Championship and it's the football club who I support. I've got a job to do here.

'I'm flattered by the speculation but I'm certainly committed to being at Leeds United for a lot longer than this.'

Grayson started his playing career at Elland Road before being released and joining Leicester City, he spent five years at Filbert Street making almost 200 appearances.

So far in his managerial career he`s guided Blackpool to the Championship in 2007 via the play offs before joining Leeds in December 2008.

In his eighteen months in charge he`s led the side back to the Championship after finishing runners up to Norwich City in League One.

He`s also led the club to a number of new club records as well as the famous victory at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the FA Cup earlier this season.

I have every confidence he will be at Leeds at the start of the season. It will take a big offer to take him away from the club he supports and I wonder if anyone would pay what Bates would want in compensation

Not having much money to spend is really worrying or is SG just saying it so as not alert other clubs that cuddly ken has loads of dosh that he wants to give them for there players ? I think its were skint , really depressing to know that it wouldn,t take much money to get us into a strong position in our first yr back in the championship pos promotion but if it as to be freebies so be it i would prefer us to do it this way than the ridsdale way ... mot

There was never any danger that he would walk out on Leeds to join an old club. His hearts at Elland Road.
