We now move into the month of December in our season review and Leeds continue to set the pace at the top of League One.
Leeds make the short trip across the Pennines on the first day of the month to face Oldham Athletic for the second time in a month.
Once Again Leeds record a comfortable 2-0 win thanks to goals from Neil Kilkenny and Luciano Becchio.
Simon Grayson is once again short listed for the Manager of the month, once again he is over looked despite the team still having lost just the one game so far in the season.
Leeds welcome local rivals Huddersfield Town to Elland Road and the two sides battle out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
First Robert Snodgrass and then Max Gradel give Leeds the lead but they have to settle for a point against a battling Huddersfield side.
Leeds book a mouth watering clash at Old Trafford in the FA Cup after finally overcoming a spirited Kettering side.
The game went into extra time before Leeds finally won through. Luciano Becchio had given Leeds the lead in normal time only to be shocked by a Kettering goal from former Leeds striker Anthony Elding.
Substitute Mike Grella scores a brace along with goals from Jermaine Beckford and Tresor Kandol to give Leeds a 5-1 victory.
ITV are quick to choose the trip to Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup as their live game with a Sunday lunchtime kick off.
Leeds struggle at Brentford and have to settle for a 0-0 draw when they return to league action on the Saturday.
Leeds are back in come action again in midweek, this time it`s the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.
Goals from Hogan Ephraim and Neil Kilkenny book Leeds place in the Northern Area final where they will meet Carlisle United.
A superb strike from Robert Snodgrass in the final fifteen minutes gives Leeds all three points in their home encounter against Southampton on the Saturday.
The main talking point is Jermaine Beckford`s reaction to being substituted, cheers from the fans inside Elland Road greet his number being held up and he refuses to shake manager Simon Grayson`s hand as he storms off straight down the tunnel.
Jermaine Beckford apologises to Grayson on the Monday for his reaction and he quickly lets his boots do the talking when he scores a double in Leeds 3-1 home win over Hartlepool on Boxing Day, Luciano Becchio scores the other goal as Leeds keep up their momentum at the top.
With regular number one keeper Shane Higgs still struggling with a thigh injury, the club extend the loan of Liverpool keeper David Martin until the end of January.
Leeds are back in League action two days after the Hartlepool game and make hard work of beating bottom of the table Stockport County at Edgeley Park.
Robert Snodgrass gives Leeds an early lead but they find themselves trailing 2-1 just past the hour mark.
Another two goals from Jermaine Beckford and a first for the club by Leigh Bromby secure another three points for Leeds.
The only sour note was a booking to Bromby which was his fifth of the season and he would miss the trip to Old Trafford.
The win at Stockport brings to an end an excellent first half of the season which sees the Whites lead the League One table by eight points from Charlton and they still have a game in hand.
Next time we will be taking a look back at January when Simon Grayson and his Leeds side write themselves into Elland Road folklore with that win at Old Trafford.
They continue to make headlines in the FA Cup during the month but at the same time, the wheels show the first sign of coming of the bus in the league.
