LUFC Grayson - We have nothing to fear

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson says his side have nothing to fear when the Championship kicks off in the first week of August.

After the new fixtures for the 2010/11 season were announced last week, Simon Grayson was already looking forward to leading Leeds in their first season in the Championship since the 2006/07 season.

With the Championship usually one of the most wide open of division`s in the Football League Grayson is going into it full of confidence, speaking on the official website, Grayson said, "We`re not frightened of this division and we respect the teams in the league, but were looking forward to having a successful time."

Grayson has been quick to strengthen his squad after last season`s promotion bringing in Kasper Schmeichel, Billy Paynter, Paul Connelly and Federico Bessone all on free transfers.

The boss as also strongly hinted that it will not be the end of the clubs summer signings as they continue to be linked with a number of players during the summer months.

Leeds will kick off their campaign with a midlands double header, they will start with a home game against Derby County on the opening day and follow it up with a trip to Nottingham Forest.

I agree with him, I really think we have agreat chance next season, sorry if I upset the pessimists (or do they like to call themselves reallists?) but we showed against the top teams last year that we have the players to compete a a higher level, I think the Championship will actually suit us more than the 'up and at em' of League One and our player will have more time on the ball. Obviosuly we have lost Beckford but I still expect us to splash a bit of cash in the summer and bring in a replacement, also add a centre back and someone in midfield. That will strengthen a squad thats already been strengthened with four very astute free ttansfers already.

Another three or four good signings and we will be a match for anyone in the Championship next season. Got to make Elland Road a fortress again.
