LUFC Any old iron for Kandol

Leeds United striker Tresor Kandol is set to sign for fellow Championship side Scunthorpe United.

Kandol will join the Iron, when the transfer window re opens on July 1st according to reports.

Kandol was one of four players told to actively try and find another club at the end of last season by manager Simon Grayson.

The 28 year old worked hard to get himself back into the reckoning last season with a string of goals for the reserves, this was after spending the whole of the 2008/09 season on loan at Millwall and Charlton Athletic.

The Congolese international scored in his first start for the club in almost eighteen months against Darlington in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.

Kandol was generally being used from the bench and scored in two games in a row against Bristol Rovers and Yeovil Town.

Unfortunately, Kandol got himself involved in an altercation after the final whistle against Yeovil and the FA hit him with a three game ban.

When he returned to the side, he managed to score his fourth goal of the season in the 5-1 home win over Kettering Town in the FA Cup.

Kandol was out of the Leeds side for a number of months after firstly having time off for family reasons and then a hamstring injury.

His last appearance in a Leeds shirt came against Norwich City in March; he became the third fastest player in Football League history to be sent off when he received his marching orders just 20 seconds after coming off the bench.

Looks like Scunny will be back in League One in a seasons time if they are to replace Hooper with Kandol!!

I have to agree with you Dazza but I thought he looked sharp when he came back and had he not got sent off stupidly against Yeovil and unluckily against Norwich he was in with a chance of getting a run. On balance though he is a CCC Heskey.

Moved The Cone onto the M80 from the M621, nice going, can we have Hooper in exchange

We want a proven goalscorer in this league and judging by Scunny's performance in the Championship last season is Hooper it? Is Hooper really good enough? I'm not so sure. Are you?
Rotherham White
He did very well for Scunny last year in the Championship. He was playing for a side struggling near the bottom who probably wouldn't generate half as many chances as a team near the top.

Whose going to want a bloke who can't stay on the pitch? Can't we just release him and maybe even pay up his contract.
