Leeds fans have been judged to be the best singers in West Yorkshire after independant research was carried out.
Professional singer and voice coach Olivia Hyde had the task of sitting down and listening to the supporters at Huddersfield Town, Bradford City and Leeds United.
Hyde had to assess the harmony, pitch tone, energy, musicality and technique and award marks.
Without knowing who she was marking, Leeds came out on top with 46 points followed by Bradford with 41 and Huddersfield`s 39.
Olivia was surprised by the quality of all the fans, speaking in the YEP, she said, 'There's definitely a tribal element to the fans' chants, though how they sing together has choir-like overtones. What is surprising is that much of the singing is in tune, not something I was expecting, to be honest.'
Leeds fans were marked in their penultimate home game of the season when they had to plenty to cheer about as they beat MK Dons 4-1.
With Leeds enjoying a successful season with promotion back to the Championship as well as a victory at their old adversaries down at the Theatre of Prawn Sandwiches, the fans had plenty to cheer about during the campaign.
Continuing Olivia was impressed with Leeds quality, she said, 'The crowd are singing as one just like a choir. There is also a lot of treble in the sound which suggests that the crowd were very excited and passionate while singing. Very impressive.'
The victory at Manchester United gave Leeds fans a number of new chants during the second half of the season, whilst they continue to belt out the clubs anthem 'Marching on Together` at every game.
