LUFC Connolly I can't wait to express myself

Leeds latest signing Paul Connolly is relishing the challenge at the club after signing in a three year deal today from Derby County.

Speaking on the official website, Connolly said, "I can`t wait to express myself, I`m not going to dribble past eleven players and chip it into the top corner, but I`ll do the basics right, get in a tackle, push forward and look to deliver good crosses."

Connolly has played most of his career in the Championship at both his previous club, Derby and his first club Plymouth Argyle and as captained both clubs.

The 26 year old said that he had heard about Leeds being interested as well as a host of other clubs, but Leeds were the only club to give him a 'concrete offer` and after a chat with manager Simon Grayson, it was an easy choice to sign for the club. Continuing Connolly said, "He didn`t have to sell the club, you don`t have to sell Leeds."

Connolly came through the Plymouth youth ranks and made over 160 appearances for the Devon club in an eight-year stay.

The Liverpool born defender moved to Derby in 2008 and made 49 appearances in his first season.

Connolly started the season as regular right back but soon fell down the pecking order and made just 12 appearances for the Rams last season.

With little first team action, Connolly joined Sheffield United on loan in March and made seven appearances for the Blades.

I'm a bit disappointed that he's not going to go round eleven players and find the top corner!

Already looking forward to seeing a right back actually play in his position for the club. Surely we must be looking to offload Crowe in the summer.

Could be another good bit of business by SG..... time will tell.

SAnother piece of good business in the free market by SG. Could we have another start playing a RB in the RB position ???. Crowe looked good first few games (especially going forward) but faded badly after that.

You watch, first game he WILL go past 11 players and chip the ball into the corner!!

I don't want him to "express himself" he is a defender not Drogba I want him to commit, clear and be safe. Don't tlike fancy footballers at the back.
