The Leeds United rumour mill shows no sign of slowing down as the club look to build for the Championship next season.
Leeds have signed goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and striker Billy Paynter so far during the close season and almost daily get linked with someone else.
This week alone they have reportedly been on the verge of signing Peter Eustace from Watford who underwent a medical at Thorp Arch before deciding to stay with the Hornets.
Billy Sharp who is currently at Sheffield United, but spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers, is still being linked with Leeds and according to today`s Daily Mail are leading the chase to sign him.
The same paper is also reporting that Leeds are lining up a £1 million move for Bolton Wanderers defender Andy O`Brien.
At the beginning of the week Leeds were linked with Hamilton Academicals midfielder Jamie McArthur and were understood to be in a battle with Wigan Athletic for his signature.
Derby County defender Paul Connelly as also been strongly linked with the club over the past week.
One thing Leeds did strongly deny this week was any contact with former Barnsley striker Daniel Bogdanovic who joined Sheffield United in midweek.
Both Chairman Ken Bates and boss Simon Grayson have stated this week that the club are having ongoing talks with certain players about bringing them to Elland Road but have not divulged any names.
Bates has also said that a number of overseas players will also be coming to Thorp Arch to have trials with the club once the players return for pre season training in July.
One thing we should have realised by now is that apart from the recent acquisition of Billy Paynter, who was strongly linked with Leeds, the club have usually signed players totally out of the blue without any rumours linking him with the club beforehand.
I look forward to more weeks of rumours during close season that will become the next days chip wrappers!
