LUFC Johnson looking for new Leeds contract

LUFC Johnson looking for new Leeds contract

Leeds United are in negotiations with midfielder Bradley Johnson about extending the three and a half year contract he signed when joining in January 2008.

Johnson has one year left on his contract and is hoping to sort out a new deal as Leeds head into the Championship.

Speaking in the YEP, Johnson said, 'My representatives are having talks with Leeds and I'd like to get it all sorted out as soon as possible.
There's no rush, because I'm still under contract next season, but I'd love to commit myself to the club for much longer."

The 23 year old has just enjoyed his most productive season with Leeds scoring seven goals in fourty-three appearances.

It looked like he was surplus to requirements when he slid down the pecking order under old boss Gary McAllister and he enjoyed a successful loan spell at Brighton and Hove Albion scoring five goals in ten appearances.

It looked like he would possibly be joining the South coast club in the transfer window but new boss Simon Grayson saw him as part of his long term plans at the club.

Johnson is one of five players at the club who contracts all run out in the summer of 2011; Patrick Kisnorbo, Richard Naylor, Luciano Becchio and Neil Kilkenny join him.

Leeds stated at the end of the season that they were keen to sit down with all the relevant players and sort out there futures with the club.
