Hughes - I am honoured to play for Leeds United

Andy Hughes is delighted to have finally signed his new one year contract with the club.

Hughes was out of contract at the end of last season and was offered a new one-year deal with the club when the season finished.

The 32 year old didn`t take long to make up his mind to stay with the club he says his the best he`s ever been at.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio Hughes said, "Without a doubt it`s the best club that I have ever played for, the best place I have ever lived, and everything about the club, the fans and the people who work here.

I am honoured to say I play for Leeds United."

The former Reading and Norwich midfielder joined Leeds on the eve of the 2007/08 season and is one of only four players who are still at the club who played in the side`s first game in League One at Tranmere.

Hughesy as gone on to make 126 appearances and featured in 39 of Leeds 46 games in their promotion campaign.

He has shown his versatility since his arrival and has played in a number of different positions.

Predominantly a midfielder he spent most of last season at either right back or left back.

Defo a good player to have around the squad. Sure his attitude rubs off on the rest of the players.
