LUFC Silly boy Gradel hit with extra match ban

Leeds United midfielder Max Gradel has been handed an additional one match ban following incidents after his dismissal during the final game of the season against Bristol Rovers.

Gradel received an automatic three-match ban for violent conduct when he stamped on Bristol Rovers defender Daniel Jones.

He has picked up the additional game for breaching rule E3 for failing to leave the pitch after his dismissal.

Gradel had to be restrained by both Jermaine Beckford and Mike Doyle after his dismissal as he tried to get at the referee.

Luckily for him, his moment of madness didn`t cost Leeds promotion as the other ten players pulled together to record a 2-1 victory and ensure promotion.

Gradel will now sit out the first four games of the 2010/11 season.

Davide Somma at the start of next season joins him on the sidelines; he also picked up a three-match suspension for violent conduct after being dismissed in his final loan game for Lincoln City at Macclesfield Town.

I liked what I saw from Gradel during his early months, but I really only wanted the club to extend his loan for the rest of the season. Nigel Pearson and Leicester backed Leeds into a corner so that we had to sign him on a permanent. I think he's shown since his arrival full time that he's got a bit of a temper, fight with Kilkenny at Carlisle, could have got sent off at Southampton within a minute of his arrival of the bench and his stupid antics against Bristol Rovers whcih could have cost us dear. I like a player with passion but he's not showing passion just immature stupidity. Clubs will start to play on this weakness and he will get would up by opposition players. He could spend more time on the sidelines than on the pitch if he's not careful.

I loved him when i first saw him on loan, but i do wonder if he is ever going to be a first team regular.

Not good enough on a routine basis and we can't be risking players like that (even the mighty Yeboah didn't get away with it so this guy definately won't)

He deserves the extra ban for his display that day. Jones did make the most out of it, holding his face???? when Gradel actually stamped on his foot. Must be anerve running up the leg to the face area. We don't need players getting involved in the biggest match of the season. I bet Gradel sighed the loudest when the final whistle went.

Having seen him on the box I have to admit that I was disappointed by his attitude after being sent off. The boy has no shortage of talent and could prove to be a very valuable member of your squad.

Wonder what fine Uncle Ken will give him for a 4 match ban
