LUFC Leeds top attendance charts

Leeds United once again led the way in the attendance averages for the 2009/10 season in League One.

The Whites finished with a home average of 24,817 beating fellow promoted club Norwich City into second place.

It`s the third year in a row that Leeds have topped the average attendance charts in League One.

This year`s average is up 1,005 on last season but is down on their average of 26,546 in their first season in League One.

Leeds home game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday saw them draw in 38,234 fans, the highest gate by any club other than Newcastle in the Football League this season.

Only Newcastle, Derby and Sheffield United had a better average in the whole Football League.

Leeds have once again proved popular on the road and have been the highest gate of thirteen of their twenty three opponents this season.

They have also manage to sell out every allocation they have received in the league this season, their best following was the 4,151 they took to Oldham Athletic on a cold Tuesday night in December.

will be interesting to see what it is next yr i wonder if papa smurf will open the top tier of east stand for the whole season? supose it will depend on what the money grabber charges on the gate

Would expect better crowds next seasom. Uncle Ken will be rubbing his hands all the local derbies to open the top deck for. Which means Cat A a plenty

If Bates had kept the prices at a slightly lower level we would have averaged over 30,000. Too many Category A games, not sure how teams like Oldham and Hartlepool fell into this category?

Our last season in the CCC proved you cant fill the top tier for other than local derbys and special games. (av 21613) so its essential we get a decent start to keep the attendances up.
erni
We will do well at the start of the season, if this go well of course the crowds will pick up but can't see the top tier opening for only the biggest of matches and at the end of the season. Good stats for L1 all teams in that division would struggle.
Only-Sleggin
We have so many local games this season that we will get over 30,000 for quite a few games.

still more than a lot of ccc teams.
