'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Fans view v Bristol Rovers

Regular Vital Leeds contributor Tiny T gives us his final fans view of the season in the rollercoaster ride, which was the 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers that secured promotion.

Higgs 7

Stood little chance with the goal, and a great save but otherwise seldom troubled.

Hughes 5
Yet again poor defending allowing the full back to run round him for the goal, until Howson came on always in trouble, not helped by Gradel`s sending off though.

Bromby 6
Troubled by the pacey Kuffour, and seemed undeceive at times, resolute at the back for the last 15 minutes.

Collins 7
The pick of the defensive bunch, strong in the air and some good tackles when we were up against it.

Lowry 5
Like Hughes, troubled by pace but better protected by Johnson.

Gradel 3
Stupid to get sent off and had to be dragged away from the Referee, we needed a strong game from him, hot headedness got the better of him.

Kilkenny 6
Went missing for a long period, but as we got the momentum going our way improved. Needs to learn to put a foot in, no good just running alongside the opposition.

Doyle 8
Covered the ground and put the tackles in, possibly his best game in a White shirt.

Johnson 7
Another who covered a lot of ground and should have scored.

Becchio 8 Star man
Another shift from Luciano who never stopped, left up front for long periods alone after going down to ten men. Just pipped Doyle and Beckford for man of the match.

Beckford 8
Got the goal to send us up. Good all round performance from him. Captain for the day and it worked, even dragged away Gradel from the Referee.

Subs
Howson 8

Who wants to get rid of him? Not me. He gave the team the lift it required. Scored the equaliser and turned the game for us.

Watt 6
Not on for long, but knows how to party after the final whistle.

Snodgrass
Really only held the ball in the corner for the final minute.

Graham Salisbury - Referee 4
Should stick to his day job as he tried his best to make sure we went into the playoffs.

Fans 10
Never stopped the belief for 90 minutes and it lifted the players. Those numpties that invaded the pitch for the second time, get a life.

Summary
Yet again we do it the hard way. Why cannot we stick to the script?
Gradel stupid to get sent off and a silly goal to give away.
Inspired substitution to bring on Howson and the Leeds lad changed the game.

The opinion around me, we had Hughes going off, with 3 at the back 5 across the middle and Becchio alone up front and it would have been done at half time. But what do we know Simon Grayson got it right.

Finally thanks Lads I couldn't have stood another year in Division 3

As the song goes

Thanks for your fans view all season Tiny.

Doyle was my man of the match and I an understand the 8's for Becchio, Beckford and Howson. As usual I think you are being very harsh on both Hughes and Kilkenny. Hughes was left totally exposed after the sending off of Gradel and as usual put in a hard working display. This blokes played either left back or right back all season, lets remember he's actually a midfielder. I am sure if the keeper went off he would be the first to volunteer to go in goal. He is one who as wore the shirt with pride all season and you can see at the end of every game just what it means to plkay for Leeds. Thought it was fantastic at the end to see him chaired off by the Leeds fans bare chested. I think the majority rule on Hughes and he is a firm favourite with the majority of fans. As for Kilkenny he put in a great shift with Doyle who both worked in tandum, up and down the pitch all day. I respect your views of course Tiny.

Thanks Daz, heard Eddie Gray on Talksport who said we had players above average for Division 3 but would struggle when we wnet up Hughes falls into that bracket
