LUFC Leeds extend Somma deal

Leeds United have taken up the option of offering striker Davide Somma an extended deal after his impressive loan spell at League Two side Lincoln City.

The club have given him a further twelve-month contract and he will return to Elland Road after the final game of his loan spell at Lincoln this weekend.

Somma has enjoyed a fantastic loan spell with the Imps since February, scoring eight goals in twelve games as help lead the side away from the relegation zone.

Speaking on the official website, boss Simon Grayson said, 'Dave has done really well at Lincoln. The main reason behind him going out on loan was to play games in a competitive environment.
'We've seen his qualities in training and in the reserves, but he needed a loan move like this and his record down there speaks for itself".".

Lincoln had also made it known that they would like to see Somma at Sincil Bank next season but Leeds have been quick to tie him to the club again.

Great to see weve given him a further twelve months, he's looked very impressive during his time at Lincoln and scored a lot of different types of goals, also chipped in with a few assists. He should get a decent chance in pre season so its up to him to take it.

We need to give him a good run pre season and lets see what he's made of. He's done an excellent job at Lincoln.
