LUFC Kisnorbo not back till October

Patrick Kisnorbo looks set to miss the first few month`s of next season with the Achilles injury he suffered in March.

The Australian international was stretchered off inside ten minutes of the home game against Millwall with the Achilles injury, which not only wrecked his chances of helping Leeds clinch promotion back to the Championship but also a place in this summers World Cup finals in South Africa.

Speaking on the official website Kisnorbo said I`d like to be running by July and the medics have said it could probably be a couple of month`s into the season before I`m back playing which would be around October".

Kisnorbo quickly became a fans favourite after his summer move from Leicester City with his accomplished defending.

His desire to help Leeds United`s cause was epitomised by his blood stained face, from his head wound against Manchester United in the FA Cup in January.

He wore a bandage around his head after suffering a head wound which required twelve stitches on the opening day of the season against Exeter City.

He refused plastic surgery to heal the wound, as he didn`t want to miss any matches for Leeds.

The 29 year old is a leading contender in most fans eyes for the end of season player of the season and as been sorely missed during his absence.

Despite not being able to play Kisnorbo still travelled down to Gillingham at the weekend to cheer the team on.

We have desperately missed him at the back. He is my player of the season by a country mile.

Hopefully it won't be that long. One of only a handfull of our players that could make the grade at Championship level.
