LUFC Becchio on the mend

Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio is recovering well after swallowing his tongue in the weekend`s game at Norwich City.

Becchio was kicked in the head by Norwich City defender Michael Nelson when going for a header inside the opening fifteen minutes and looked unconscious before he`d even hit the deck.

Following lengthy treatment on the pitch after very quick reactions from the medical teams of both clubs, the Argentinian was taken to hospital in Norwich.

Becchio was allowed to travel home with the team after the game and is recovering well.

Great news. Look forward to having him back!

It looked sickening when it happened, he was out cold before he hit the deck. Must say well done to everyone at Norwich who were quick to react and the Norwich physio was quick to help out as well. So gald to hear he was able to travel home with the squad, despite not knowing who any of the players were and thinking his name was Derek!

We need him this Saturday

There is usually a time period before players can play again after being knocked unconscious. Sometimes the ffects come on several days after the incident.(dont know what it is for football but its 2 weeks for rugby) I wouldnt expect him to play on Saturday as they will do scans to see if there is any ongoing problems. Best of luck to Luci

Good luck to the lad and speedy recovery. You missed him I thought and will because he works whereas his partner likes to pounce on chances and that seems to be all.

I am glad he's ok, looked a very nasty injury.
