LUFC Higgs and Parker return in five goal romp

Shane Higgs and Ben Parker both returned for Leeds reserves in an easy 5-0 win over Lincoln City.

Goalkeeper Higgs came through the ninety minutes unscathed whilst Parker completed seventy-five minutes before being replaced.

A very strong Leeds side included Higgs, Crowe, Parker, Michalik, Marques, Robinson, Johnson, Gradel and Dickov all starting.

Leeds had to wait until well past the half hour before taking the lead, Gradel squared the ball for Dickov who was on hand to tap in and score his first goal for the club.

The second half saw Gradel score a hat trick in a twelve-minute spell as the home side threatened to over run the visitors.

Andy Robinson scored a deserved fifth close to the end after an impressive performance in the midfield.

Great to see Higgs and Parker getting some football under their belt. By erni's account of the game it sounded like some good performances by quite a few who are giving Grayson a big nudge in the back. Will he be tempted to throw a few of them in against Millwall and will he risk Higgs or stick with Ankergren who has played well since Christmas.

Good to see Gradel getting a hat trick. Hopefully he can start making more of an impact on the 1st team again. Will Robbo have some role to play before the seasons out?!?!?!?!

radel had a pretty erratic first 20-25 mins (the usual amount of time he is allowed at the end of the game) and it was only as the game progressed that he calmed down and showed his array of talents, including hitting the nbet three times, having one cleared off the line and setiing up Dickov for the first and both Dickov and robbo with other excellent chances. Robbo had an excellent game, involved in all the action, good passing and deserved his goal (he also had one goal bound shot deflected onto a post). Johnson was also strong and had the good vision so lacking recently in the first team
