LUFC Beckford claims top award

Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford has won the FourFourTwo League One Player of the year.

Beckford has once again been in great goalscoring form this season and has already amassed 27 goals.

It`s the second time he`s picked up the award having also won it in 2008 and it`s his third award overall having got the goal of the season in League One during his loan spell from Leeds United with Scunthorpe United in the 2006/07 season.

The 26 year old picked up the award after being the highest ranked League One player in the top fifty football league players, where he was voted third overall.

I am a huge Beckford fan, he's not been at his best since the New Year and he's still scored 27 goals this season. To say he is the best player in League One and 3rd best in the Football League, I'm not sure about that. I wouldn't even say he's been Leeds player of the season, surely if anyone was to win it from Elland Road it should be Patrick Kisnorbo who has been ultra consistent and as solid as a rock all season.

one class player , hes on form again . good luck to him for the rest of the season .

Lets hope he gets back to scoring the goals to fire us up, but Daz agree he's not even been our best player, but he takes the limelight especially in front of the Cameras

Against us he was nothing. Kisnorbo shone like a beacon in the dark. As for 442 I used to work for a courier company in London and we had cars as well as vans. We often used to ferry their reporters about and they nearly always looked drunk or stoned or were on their way ti get so.

I would imagine even Beckford must of been a bit shocked to receive this award. Hoping he starts banging them goals in again to take us up to the Championship though!
