LUFC Becchio takes fans award

Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio is the latest player to walk away with the League One PFA Fans player of the month award.

Becchio won the award for February after scoring six goals during the month.

The Argentine striker beat of competition from team mate Casper Ankergren along with January`s winner Ricky Lambert.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson hailed the strikers achievement during February, speaking on the official website Grayson said 'Trying to recapture his form has been difficult but he got a couple of goals a few weeks ago at Hartlepool which kicked him on."

Becchio continues Leeds domination of the award this season following in the footsteps of Robert Snodgrass (August and September) and Jermaine Beckford (October, November and December) that have picked up the award.

Six goals in the month is a great return especially when you think he was either dropped to the bench or substituted in a lot of the games. Lets hope he can continue the form for the rest of the season.

Well deserved.

Lets hope it inspires him to do it all again in the next 4 weeks as we need it with Beckford misfiring (or not firing at all)
erni
His goals could have a lot to do with defenders mainly concentrating on Beckford. Long may it continue!

I think you are right Andy, he's getting a bit more space but he does also seem to be anticipating much better around the box.

I hope he doesn't get the dreaded 'kiss of death' with any more player of the month awards... Well done
