'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Grayson happy enough with a point

Simon Grayson was reasonably happy with the point his side gained in the West Yorkshire derby at Huddersfield Town.

In a pulsating game that swung both ways, Grayson said on Yorkshire Radio, 'It was a great game and it's a great advert for League One."

Leeds went in at half time 1-0 down after a deflected Antony Pilkington shot gave Casper Ankergren no chance.

The Whites fought back in the second half and two goals in six minutes by Jon Howson and Luciano Becchio gave Leeds the lead.

Huddersfield claimed a point inside the ten minutes when Gary Roberts latched onto a deep cross to side foot his effort into the corner of the net.

Despite the late equaliser, Grayson was still happy with the point, "I think I'm probably the happier of the two managers. We wanted to win the match and we went out there to do that, but it's another point." Continued Grayson.

With Colchester losing and Swindon also drawing, the point was enough for Leeds to extend their advantage in the final automatic spot to four points over Charlton who won last night and Leeds still have a game in hand.

I'm sure before the game and also at half time Grayson would have taken a point but he must be disappointed to concede late on to drop two points. With teams below us dropping points though, its a difficult game out of the way and nobody being able to take advantage. Next weekend most teams in the mix for promotion have games against struggling sides, Leeds probably have the hardest game against Brentford.

Wether we were outlayed in the first half or not I find it a bit defeatist to be happy with a point when we were ahead with 5 mins to go. Shades of Hartlepool again when a bit more defensive organisation would have seen 2 wins. We did it a couple of times last year at this time but then went on a winning run so letrs hope we do the same again.

It was so close to being three, I hope we can kick on from here.
