LUFC Poyet looking forward to special occasion

Former Leeds United assistant manager Gus Poyet is looking forward to a very special occasion when he brings his Brighton team to Elland Road on Saturday.

Poyet was the assistant to Dennis Wise and helped the club develop a siege mentality when they were faced with a 15 point deduction at the start of the 2007/08 season.

Many Leeds fans believe that Poyet was the real driving force behind the Whites fantastic start to the season, which saw them wipe out the points deduction after five games when they started with five straight wins.

Poyet left Leeds in October 2007 to become the assistant manager to Juande Ramos at Tottenham Hotspur and the clubs form was to quickly deteriorate with a more long ball approach being adopted by Dennis Wise.

Speaking on BBC Sussex, Poyet said 'It's going to be very special because I had a great time there. I know it's going to be difficult for me."

The former Uruguayan international received a fantastic reception from the travelling Leeds fans when they visited the Withdean stadium earlier on in the season.

It was amazing how our form dipped once Poyet left and we left it to the midget. He will get a great recepton on Saturday. I hope we spoil his party and give his team a good battering, I will wish Brighton well after tomorrow.

Come on Leeds, you're my bankers in doubles with the current leaders of the other 3 divs and the BSP.
