LUFC Kandol to return to training

Leeds United striker Tresor Kandol is hoping to return to training next week after a hamstring injury has kept him sidelined since early January.

Kandol hasn`t appeared for Leeds since the 4-2 win over Stockport County over Christmas when he came on as a substitute.

He missed the next few games due to personal reasons and was all set for a return to the squad at Exeter City before suffering a hamstring injury in training.

The 28 year old has worked his way back into the Leeds reckoning this season after spending the whole of the 2008/09 season on loan at Millwall and Charlton Athletic.

He looked to be on his way out of Elland Road in the summer but the Congolese international got his head down in the reserves, scoring six goals in four games.

Kandol started his first game against Darlington in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.
He scored Leeds second goal in the 2-1 win before having to be substituted at half time due to a sickness bug. It was his first appearance for the first team since the Play off final at the end of the 2007/08 season.

Kandol followed this up with goals against Bristol Rovers and Yeovil Town before serving a three-match ban for an altercation with a Yeovil player after the final whistle and being charged by the FA on a misconduct charge.

He`s only started two games but as chipped in with four goals in ten appearances so far this season.

Kandol coming back will give us a few more options up front. We need to stop playing with just one up front whilst Beckford is out.
