LUFC White on short list for award

Leeds United youngster Aiden White has been short listed for a Football League award.

White has been short-listed for the Championship manager young apprentice of the year for League One.

The left sided player who can play in either defence or attack faces competition from Pietro Palladino (Wycombe Wanderers) and Tom Adeyemi (Norwich City).

The 18 year old has made one start and six substitute appearances so far this season and played a part in both the FA Cup games against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

White is the only nomination for Leeds in the twelve categories of the Football League awards.

Representatives of the media, sports industry and the Football League made the shortlists.
Leeds players could still pick up another award on the evening with fans being able to vote on who they feel is the League One player of the season.

Both Fabian Delph and Jermaine Beckford have picked up awards in the past two seasons.

Leeds have six players on the short list, Robert Snodgrass, Jermaine Beckford, Patrick Kisnorbo, Jon Howson, Luciano Becchio and Andy Hughes are the options.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Sunday March 14th.

White is definitely one we must try and give more games to. Don't want to see him like so many others drift into obscurity before being released. I really like him and would prefer to see his pace used out on the wing rather than in defence.
