'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Departing Prutts acknowledges fans

David Prutton praised the fans after departing Leeds on Monday after two and a half years at the club.

Prutton had joined Colchester United initially on loan last week with a view to a permanent move but the club and the player came to an agreement, which freed him of his contract at Leeds and allowed him to join Colchester on a full time basis.

In an open letter on the official website Prutton gave an heart felt thanks to everyone at the club and especially the fans.

From the official website:
'Dear All, It's been one of the privileges of my life so far to have played for such a world renowned, highly respected football club.
'The friendships I have made, the memories I hold dear and the sheer pleasure of being a Leeds player will stay with me for a long time.
'Leeds United gets under your skin (as I'm sure all you avid fans know) and there will be a part of me that will always be Leeds.
'I am proud to have played a part in bridging the gap between an uncertain past and a no doubt glorious future.
'Leeds fans are loud, loyal and passionate. Make no mistake, you are the lifeblood of the club and forever will be. You were always fantastic to me and I hold that in my heart as I move on.
'Thanks for everything, David Prutton (aka Prutts, aka Jesus).'

The 28 year old was a regular during Leeds first season in League One and became a cult hero in the stands, and was nicknamed Jesus due to his long hair.
He was an almost ever present, making over 40 appearances and helping Leeds to the Play Off final.

The midfielder found a starting place hard to come by though under Gary McAllister and then Simon Grayson.

He had made just the one start this season in the league in the 2-0 win at Oldham in November.

Everyone here on Vital Leeds wishes 'Prutts` aka 'Jesus` all the best for the future

Great to see a player in the modern game come out and do something like this.
