Can Blackwell Handle The Pressure?

Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd has hinted that Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell will fold under the pressure at Cardiff.

It has to be said, the Leeds gaffa did come out with an amazing load of bollocks before the semi-final at Deepdale. Will Cardiff push him over the edge?

Boothroyd comes face to face with the club he left to take over as Watford boss in March 2005 in the Coca-Cola Championship play-off final in Cardiff on Sunday week.

Boothroyd: 'It's going to be interesting. I know [Leeds manager] Kevin Blackwell inside out from when I worked as his first-team coach.

'I've spent a lot of time with him, and I've seen him working under pressure, and I know that the final will be a tough day.

'They will clearly be the favourites, but it's up to us to go there, give a good account of ourselves and make sure we finish off a fantastic season with a victory.

'Regarding possible FA disciplinary action, I will simply deal with whatever comes along. That is how I work.'

Comments like that can only inspire the team (Leeds) and make everyone more determined and less nervous on the day. I always fail to understand why people denigrate their opposition. It only serves as a motivator and is counter productive to your own ends. Praise your opposition but plan and plot to beat them. How many times has egg ended up on the loose lipped ships.
