Have Leeds Ended Davies Career?

Will Preston boss Billy Davies throw in the towel at Deepdale after the Whites gave him a licking?

It almost happened last summer when Hearts and Derby were chasing his services, only for the Scot to pledge his future to Preston.

But the play-offs defeat to Leeds was a right kick in the balls for the Preston boss.

After goals from Rob Hulse and Frazer Richardson condemned Preston to defeat, a dejected O'Neil said: 'We're all pretty sick to be honest.

'When you work so hard over the course of the season and it culminates in a defeat like that, then it is pretty hard to take.

'But once we're back in after the holidays, we'll crack on again.

'One of the best things about the boys is that we know how to work hard every single day.

'We don't have any big-time charlies. We're not that type of club, we're all in it together as everybody can see. It's clear as day.

'So this won't have any effect on us for next season, other than perhaps making the expectations that little bit higher.'

Brings tears to the eye.
