Leeds run in this season`s FA Cup is proving to be very profitable but most fans are now concerned that the run could prove more costly, with Leeds faltering promotion push in recent weeks.
With Leeds in the middle of a run of 12 games in 42 days and with them also enjoying a run to the Northern Area final of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy, could all the cup competitions prove a costly distraction?
The FA showed their first round tie at Oldham live on the internet whilst ITV have shown both Kettering ties, Manchester United away and both Tottenham games so far in this season`s competition.
The FA Cup has proven to be a gold mine for Leeds this season with TV and Radio coverage alone proving very profitable.
Leeds picked up £67,500 for the coverage at Oldham, £108,000 altogether for both Kettering games, £152,100 from the Man United game and £232,200 from the two games with Spurs.
Leeds will pick up another £255,600 for the tie at Bolton, if they can get past Spurs.
Leeds have so far picked up £112,500 for reaching the fourth round in prize money, beating Spurs would be worth another £90,000.
When you also account for their share of gate money as well in the competition, it`s proving to be a very profitable run in the competition.
Over 110,000 fans have watch their last two games against Manchester United and Spurs and a 30,000 plus gate is forecasted for the replay with Spurs next week.
All this could count for nothing if the players run out of legs having already played 38 games this season and a minimum of 22 more to come, between now and May.
