LUFC Grayson Jermaine can only win

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson believes star striker Jermaine Beckford could have the pick of many Premiership clubs by the end of the season.

A number of Premiership clubs including Everton, Fulham and Bolton have already been rumoured to show an interest in Beckford who will be allowed to leave Leeds on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Leeds are willing to forfeit a transfer fee in the region of 2 million pound by not selling him in the January transfer window if it means the side getting promotion with the help of his goals.
Grayson said: 'I have said all along I would rather Jermaine leave on a free and wish him well rather than sell him now because hopefully in that meantime he's got us promoted.
'Jermaine can only win because if he scores 15 to 20 goals until the end of the season he will be linked with bigger clubs than he's being linked with now.'
Beckford handed in a transfer request at the end of December but withdrew the request last week saying he wanted to finish off what he`d started with Leeds three years ago, and help the club out of League One.

The 26 year olds reputation has grown this month due to Leeds national exposure in the FA Cup.

He scored the winner in Leeds shock win at Manchester United in the third round and was at it again yesterday when scoring both goals at another highflying Premiership club Tottenham in a 2-2 draw.

The former Wealdstone striker brought Leeds level twice with the last goal coming in the fifth minute of injury time when he showed great composure from the penalty spot, giving Gomes no chance in the Tottenham goal.
