LUFC Grayson to have final say on Beckford

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson says the club haven`t received any more bids this week for their want away striker Jermaine Beckford despite all the constant speculation.

Grayson as also revealed that it will be him who will make the final decision whether to let Beckford leave or not during the transfer window.

Speaking on the official website Grayson said 'It's a decision the chairman has said we will make as a group, but ultimately it will fall to me."

Leeds have already reported to have turned down three bids from Newcastle United. The last one thought to be in the region of 1.5 million, but it is still short of Leeds valuation of a striker whose already scored twenty goals this season.

Both Chairman Ken Bates and gaffer Grayson have said all along that they are willing to see the player leave for nothing at the end of the season if it means Beckford helping us towards promotion back to the Championship after a three year exile.

I think he will be with us till the summer. Us losing out on around 2 million will be pittance compared to the fact we could be back in the Championship and will make three times that amount for a return to the second tier. What will really hurt is if he does stay and we don't get promoted!

promotion is way more valuable than a transfer fee of 2mill... but then again, i see us getting promoted regardless of beckford (touch wood). It would have to be a major c**k up to not get promoted from this position... but with leeds, when there is a will, there is a way
