'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Showunmi departs Elland Road

Leeds United striker Enoch Showunmi has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Showunmi has been linked with Scottish Premier League side Falkirk today after slipping down the Elland Road pecking order.

The 27 year old hasn`t featured in the side since coming off the bench at Brighton in mid November.

He had made just one start all season in the Carling Cup first round tie at Darlington where he scored the only goal of the game.

The former Bristol City striker missed much of last season after suffering a blood clot on his lung, which nearly ended his career.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson said on the official website "Enoch needs to play regular football and hopefully this will enable him to do so".

Showunmi becomes the fourth player to leave Elland Road today after the departure of youngsters Josh Falkingham, Jonathan Webb and Oliver Hotchkiss.

I hope he finds another club soon after all the bad luck he had at the start of 2009 with his blood clot.
