Leeds United boss Simon Grayson dedicated the win at Manchester United to the fans after they have had to endure a torrid time during the first decade in the twenty first century supporting the club.
Grayson who himself is a life long Leeds United supporter as well as the boss, spoke about the fans on the official website when he said "That`s what they deserve. There`s been a lot of negativity around over the last few years here, but they`ve never wavered and that result was for them".
In the past five years, Leeds fans have seen the club almost go bust on more than one occasion, slide from the Premiership to League One, start a season on minus fifteen points and lose out in two play off finals as well as another play off semi final.
Since the arrival of Simon Grayson in December 2008 the club and fans have started to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
They are now entering the second decade of the century sat nicely at the top of League One by eight points with a game in hand on their closest rivals, in the Northern Area final of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy and basking in the glory of a victory at Old Trafford for the first time since 1981.
