LUFC Grayson still keen to keep hold of Beckford

Despite the continuous rumours surrounding Leeds leading goalscorer and FA Cup hero Jermaine Beckford, Leeds boss Simon Grayson is still adamant he will be going nowhere in January unless the club receive an offer to good to turn down.

Beckford, who is out of contract at the end of the season wrote himself into Leeds folklore on Sunday when scoring the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win at Old Trafford to knock Manchester United out of the FA Cup.

Speaking on Sky Sports Grayson said "There are three scenario`s, he can either sign a new contract now, or we can keep him until the end of the season and he leaves then. The worst-case scenario is that we are offered some money now that is too good to turn down.

The goal on Sunday was Beckford`s fifth in three games and his twentieth of the season.

It`s the third season in a row that he`s achieved twenty goals or more and if Leeds can hold onto their prized asset in January, he`s already well on his way to beating the thirty-four goals he scored last season.
