LUFC Howson - We want to make the fans proud

Local lad Jon Howson will be hoping to make the Leeds fans proud when the club travel to Manchester United on Sunday.

Nearly 9,000 Leeds fans making the short trip across the Pennines will cheer the sides on and Howson speaking on the official website said "If we go there and give it a go, whatever happens, we can say we have given it our best shot".

Howson understands the rivalry between the two sides being a lifelong Leeds United supporter and coming through the Leeds United academy.

The 21 year old has now made over 100 appearances for Leeds and has enjoyed the privilege of captaining the club during Richard Naylor`s injury absences this season.

Lets hope they can do us proud. Even if we come away losing we could show we are not going to be in League One for long and will soon be returning on a regular basis.

Well I hope i will be walking away from OT tomorrow at 3pm saying he has made me proud. Its a long time since I went there and came away with a win (I didnt go to the 'Brian Flynn' match.)

All we can do is give it our best shot, to be honest nothing sould be expected from us, if it was any other League One side going their, there wouldn't be the talk there has been.
