LUFC Capaldi looking to earn contract

New loan signing Tony Capaldi is looking past his loan spell at Leeds and hoping to earn a full time contract with the club.

The defender joined on the loan transfer deadline day on loan until January 4th from Cardiff City, he`s already been given permission by his parent club to take part in the FA Cup this weekend, suggesting that he`s on his way out of the club in January.

The 28 year old couldn`t wait to join Leeds and admits he turned down offers from a few Championship clubs to join the League One pacesetters.

Speaking on the official website Capaldi said "When a massive club like Leeds come in you can`t turn it down. If I hadn`t taken it I would have regretted it for the rest of my life"

The Northern Ireland international is now looking to impress boss Simon Grayson over the next month, it may only be a month`s loan but he could play a possible ten games during a very busy December.

Continuing he said "I`ll do my best and see what happens. It`s up to me to play well over the next few weeks and sit down with the gaffer in January and see where we are".

Capaldi will be hoping to make his debut on Sunday in the FA Cup tie at Kettering Town.
