LUFC Grayson plays down Beckford links

Leeds United boss has re iterated his stance over star striker Jermaine Beckford, saying he`s going nowhere in January.

The 25 year old whose contract is up at the end of the season continues to be linked with a number of clubs including Newcastle, West Brom and Bolton.

Beckford`s already turned down one new contract offer in the summer, that decision made the club put him on the transfer list.

The club soon removed him from the list and said that he would at least see out the remaining twelve month`s of his contract and run the risk of losing him for nothing at the end of the season.

Simon Grayson speaking in the YEP said 'I'll be bracing myself for telephone calls, but he won't be going anywhere. I've said from the summer months when he came off the transfer list, he's isn't going.
The chairman has given me his word he won't be sold in January".

Despite the unrest Beckford is continuing to score the goals and got his thirteenth of the season in Saturday`s win at Brighton.

The scary thing is he can agree a deal with a club in January even though he will still be ours till the end of the season. I wonder how the fans will react to him then?
dazza71
Just give him a new contract, goal scorers are very hard to find and usually expensive so why waste it on a fee when we already have one at the club.

If that was the case Dazza71 I would expect they would keep it under wraps, I think Boro will come in for him with a move to take immediate effect
