LUFC Marques on the comeback trail

Leeds United defender Rui Marques completed his first ninety minutes for the club on Monday in a behind closed door friendly since damaging his Achilles at Colchester in August.

Marques was partnered at the centre of defence by Argentine trialist Walter Garcia.

Reserve team manager Neil Thompson speaking on the official website said "Rui came through fine which is important and it was good to see him back".

Leeds lost the game 4-3 against Middlesbrough with Davide Somma scoring two of the Leeds goals.

The Angolan international will find it hard to break back into the side with Richard Naylor and Patrick Kisnorbo forming a strong partnership at the back in his absence.

I think he will struggle to get back in with Naylor and Kisnorbo both playing well.

Leeds got their game called off against Swindon on Saturday when Marques was called up for Angola even though he was injured! Thats both the games we've had called off could have been played with Snodgrass being injured when the last game against Bristol Rovers was called off due to internationals.

Agrred. We're getting all our players back fit. A nice big squad at the height of their powers to see us straight through the Xmas period and beyond. Everything's looking good.
