LUFC Leeds v Grimsby officials

Andy Penn will be the man in charge when Leeds United welcome Grimsby Town to Elland Road for a Johnstone`s Paint Northern Section Quarter Final.

Penn is a rare commodity in the game nowadays and averages less than two yellow cards per game in recent seasons.

The West Midlands official has refereed 13 games so far this season and has shown only 21 yellow cards.

Last season he refereed 29 games showing 55 yellow cards and 3 reds.

He took charge of two Leeds games last season, both at Elland Road.
He was in charge for Leeds 3-2 win against Hartlepool in September and the last game of the season when Leeds beat Northampton 3-0.

The last time he took charge of Grimsby was towards the end of the 2007/08 season when they lost 1-0 at home against Rotherham United.

Referee: A.M Penn (West Midlands)
Assistants: P.R Marsden & A.J Scregg
Fourth official: J Waugh

Very rare to see a referee averaging less than two yellow cards per game. He must like Leeds, he's refereed us three times and we've won them all.

Seems a lucky charm...Lets hope he can keep the Leeds players safe from injuries...

Good omen. What odds a sending off in first ten minutes ??? I went to both games last season and really cant remember him so he must have done well. (He did book Hughes against 'Pool)

Its good to be able to say good things about a referee for a change and not be slateing them.
