'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Oldham v Leeds Team News

Leeds United travel to Oldham Athletic for an FA Cup first round tie on Saturday evening.

Oldham will definitely be without defender Alan Sheehan whose loan with the club finished after Sunday`s game with Huddersfield and he`s now returned to Saturday`s opponents Leeds.

Dave Penney brought in two loan players in the week, Daryl Flahavan and Lee Hills both from Crystal Palace with both being given permission to play in the cup.

Joe Jacobson returned for the reserves in midweek, but will probably not be risked for this game.

Kelvin Lomax is still missing after picking up a knee injury at Brighton two weeks ago.

Leeds will be without loan duo Max Gradel and Sam Vokes who have been refused permission by their parent clubs to take part in the tie.

Tresor Kandol starts the first of a three match ban after being found guilty of violent conduct yesterday.

With Vokes and Kandol missing, Mike Grella and Enoch Showunmi will be battling it out to see who partners Jermaine Beckford in attack.

Rui Marques has returned to full training this week after his Achilles injury but is unlikely to be risked for this game.

Still out are Shane Higgs (thigh), Ben Parker (hip), Andy Robinson (hamstring) and Luciano Becchio (ankle).

I think he might go with Grella in attack instead of Showunmi, he will show he's not taking the competition seriously if he goes with Enoch!!!

Interesting that Oldham have brought in a loan LB for a month (as well as a keeper) and wonder where that leaves Sheehan. I wouldnt be surprised to see him start with Enoch for what will be a physical game.
erni
I hope Graysons playing his cards close to his chest and Becchio has returned to full fitness. Whenever he's asked about him he doesn't answer the question.

I think he will go with Grella and Beckford he dosen't want make a show off Leeds going with big Show lol...I wish SG would go for a loan LB instead of playing Sheehan...
iwa
Sheehan's earned rave reviews whilst at Oldham, Graysons made a habit of getting the best out of players who underachieved under McAllister, might be worth giving him a chance although I think he will stick with Hughes.
dazza71
Now Sheehans got smoe matches under his belt he should be raring to go, the only thing that worries me is his temperament. He got a couple of silly sendings off for Leeds.
King Billy
I'd put a proper L B in for this game, also think he'll go with Grella. What about Somma not heard anything of him recently
Tiny T
A few sites are saying Becchio will return for the game, with no game next week I hope we don't take any risks and risk him getting another injury.
dazza71
Somma is injured (hamstring) so is not in contention. Dont know about Becchio. Larry doesnt usually rush players back (look what happened to Higgs) and i understand Becchio has only been doing light training.I
erni
Leeds need a good cup run not, keep players concentrated on the promotion battle. Keep their eye on what is important, how many more times can they not get promoted before the faithful lose faith. more goals please we all love leeds united
