LUFC Leeds once again under scrutiny

Leeds United are once again under scrutiny from the Football League after the club were asked for clarification of their owners.

In a meeting today that was entitled 'fit and proper persons test`, Leeds along with Notts County and QPR found themselves the major talking points of the meeting.

The League have requested the information after recent allegations questioned the ownership of the club.

It all stems for a report in the Guardian earlier in the year that stated the Leeds chairman Ken Bates made an error when he claimed that he was joint owner of the club.

Football League officials want to know the exact details of the individuals behind the companies who run the club.

The Football League released a statement after today`s meeting 'The board noted recent allegations made about the ownership of Leeds United Football Club. The League has written to the club seeking clarification.

'No further comment will be made on this matter until a response has been received.'

Leeds are no strangers to run ins with the Football League over the years and Whites fans will be bracing themselves for the outcome of the report.

Of the three parties under investigation we are the easy targets. Briatore and his friends are too rich and have too much influence (including political with Mittal and the battle to keep the UKs steel works open) for the FL to consider playing hard ball. If Briatore chooses to walk away it will save them a big headache. Notts Counties new owners are also very rich and powerful and connected in the arms trade with BAE. That leaves impoverished Leeds out on a limb and Mawhinneys long standing battle with Bates is still on the agenda. If Bates did lie about ownership (not out of the question now) we could be in deep deep doodah.

Your right Erni but i think if goes any further it will take a long time...Maybe Bates or Mawhinny will be dead...
