LUFC Leeds v Stockport Vital Preview

Leeds entertain Stockport County on Saturday on the verge of breaking two long standing club records.

A Leeds victory would mean a fourteenth straight home league win, breaking a record that was set in 1969, the club equalled it against Tranmere Rovers recently.

They can also record their eight straight win from the start of the season, a record that`s stood since 1973.

Form

Leeds

The Whites are currently joint top of League One with Charlton Athletic with five wins from five in the league.

Leeds won their last game away at Colchester United 2-1 thanks to goals from Bradley Johnson and Jermaine Beckford.

Beckford who scored 34 goals last season continues to be the goal scoring hero and has already netted five times in the league this season.

Stockport

The Hatters have made a mixed start to the season not winning any of their four opening games in all competitions this season.

Since then they have beaten Brighton 4-1 away, drew with Southampton and on Tuesday scored four at Crewe in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy in a 4-1 win.

Carl Baker is the man to watch scoring seven goals in his last three games, scoring hat tricks against both Brighton and Crewe.

History

The two clubs have only ever met on eight occasions, last seasons League One clashes were the first since the 1923/24.

At Elland Road, Leeds have won three games to Stockport`s one.

Leeds enjoyed doing the double over their Lancashire rivals last season, both under Simon Grayson.

Leeds 3-1 victory at Edgeley Park over Christmas was their first win under Grayson in his second game in charge.

Stockport took the lead inside five minutes but goals from Becchio, Delph and Christie sent the Leeds fans home happy.

In the reverse fixture at Elland Road, Leeds won 1-0 thanks to a goal inside the first ten minutes from Jon Howson.

Lets hope we can keep the ball rolling, I hope Graysons keeping the guys hard at it and not gettting complacent. I wonder who will be at the back with no Kisnorbo and Marques? Will probably be Bromby and Missakick!!

Hold on to your hats...Lubo will be back. Hes certainly not a favourite of mine but has looked pretty solid when he has played this season, certainly more convincing than Huntington who seems to have lost it. Naylor is training again but i am sure he will not be risked without a couple of run outs behind the scenes.

good luck with trying to break 2 records....looking forward to your visit to the valley....
