LUFC Grayson happy to be through

Simon Grayson was happy to see his side make it through to the second round of the Carling Cup although he felt they were sloppy and lacking tempo in the first half.

Leeds won thanks to a solitary goal from Enoch Showunmi in the 54th minute.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game Grayson said "Were happy with the performance, and certain manners of it, but were just delighted to get through again".

In a first half where chances were few and far between, Leeds upped the tempo in the second half, Bradley Johnson should have opened the scoring, but his effort cannoned off the bar when in a good position.

Showunmi who scored the opener should have sewn up the game inside the final half hour but he screwed his shot horribly wide when in a great position.

Darlington almost snatched an equaliser deep into injury time but Leeds will be in the hat for the second round draw later this week.
