LUFC Defensive problems for Leeds

Rui Marques is on international duty this week and will miss the Carling Cup tie at Darlington on Monday.

Marques has been called up for Angola`s midweek friendly in Portugal and joined up with the squad after Saturday`s game with Exeter City.

Defender Marques started the first game of the season alongside Patrick Kisnorbo who as also been called up for Australia in their friendly with the Republic of Ireland.

With Richard Naylor still recovering from back surgery Paul Huntington and Lubomir Michalik are likely to be the central defensive partnership for the Darlington game.

Leeds may also be forced to make a change at left back for the game after Ben Parker was forced off inside the first thirty minutes of Saturday`s game.

Saw some highlights of the game and Parker was having a great game until he was forced off with a injury...Marques missing for tomorrows nights game along with Kisnorbo...I think we manage without them for this game against Darlington...Both had a good game...MOT

Larry said he'll put the strongest squad out, so should be no problem beating them. And just letting everyone know, darlo lost to aldershot 3-1 on saturday

We were saying a coupole of weeks ago we had too many centre halfs....now we are at bare bones in our second game. Shows the value of a bigger squad. We dont normally do well on the TV so i am hoping for a change of fortune tomorrow.

Would play Huntington in front of Michlik myself

Ideal chance to give some of the fringe players a chance even though I don't have much faith in Lubo or Hunts. Much prefer them getting a chance in the cup games rather than league.
