LUFC Snodgrass signs new contract

Robert Snodgrass who became an influential part of last season for Leeds United has signed an improved four year deal with the club keeping him at Elland Road until 2013.

Scotsman Snodgrass was the form player for Leeds under Simon Grayson and was only just pipped to the Leeds United player of the season by Jermaine Beckford.

Snodgrass was delighted with the new deal, speaking on the official website he said "It`s been great since I came down here last summerand I really love the club".

The 21 year old has been linked with a move away from the club this summer so it`s an excellent move by the club to secure his long term future. Snodgrass can`t wait for the season to start and can`t wait for Saturday, continuing he said "We`ve all had enough of being in this division and were all pulling together and heading in the right direction. The main aim this season is promotion".

Contracts mean absolutely nothing, just the fact we will get more for them if they leave. Delph signed a new four year deal less than a year ago!

If we do get promoted it puts us in a stronger position to keep hold of him even if a prem team comes in for him. If he hadn't of signed, we would be in a similar position to the one we are in now with Beckford.

It's great that Snodgrass signed till 2013 and he'll still be only be 25, when his contract expires. Only missed out for player off the season pipped by Beckford. And as he says he loves Leeds. I thought that he might have left last season. Great that he didn't all he wants to do now is get Leeds promoted. Good on you Snodgrass...MOT

now that delphs gone, if he plays as good as last season he'll probs be player of season

This is our best signing of the summer. I am amazed nobody came in for him.

With anything its the size of the bid which determines if a player leaves or not, contracts are not worth the paper they are written on

Great news; a solid pro that will only get better!

Good to see with him being linked with other clubs.
