LUFC Leeds sign Doyle for season

Leeds United have signed former Coventry City captain Mike Doyle on a season long loan deal from the Sky Blues.

Doyle who celebrates his 28th Birthday on the opening day of the season this Saturday has been at Coventry City for the last six years making over 250 appearances.

He has also won one cap for the Republic of Ireland back in 2006.

Doyle made 39 starts for the Sky Blues last season and also scored in last wekend`s pre season friendly against Everton.

Speaking on the official website boss Simon Grayson said "Micky brings experience, knowledge and quality, and he is a good addition to our squad".

Doyle Is best know for his tough tackling and excellent workrate in the midfield area.

He's just what we have all been saying we wanted this summer. Once again nobody knew of this move, well done to Simon Grayson and the Leeds staff for keeping this quiet till the deal was done.

Just come in and seen this. He is certainly experienced and a good defensive midfielder who has played in the CCC most of his career. He could do Douglas's job with ease and is not afraid to have a pop at goal (43 attempts last season with 22 on target and 3 goals). Good sensible signing.

Good signing. Should give us that bit of grit in midfield we have been missing.

Well if he done well im championship he should do well in this league. im not really sure we needed another midfielder but will be a competiton in that area now
