LUFC Grayson will not spend for the sake of it

Simon Grayson says that he will not go out and spend money just for the sake of it after being given a cash boost from chairman Ken Bates after the sale of Fabian Delph to Villa.

Grayson still believes he`s got a strong enough squad to be very competitive in League One this season and win promotion.

Speaking on LUTV Grayson said "I am looking to strengthen, but I won`t be wasting any money".

The Leeds boss who joined the club in December after the sacking of Gary McAllister has still to spend any money since arriving at the club.

Whats probably more remarkable is the fact that Leeds haven`t spent any cash in the transfer market since January 2008 when they signed Lubomir Michalik for an undisclosed fee.

Grayson does admit that he`s got one or two target`s lined up, will Leeds fans see anymore new arrivals before the transfer window closes on August 31st?

If Beckford goes then I think we better see some activity this week just to keep us fans a bit happy. We are a few days away from the season starting and full of hope after an excellent pre season. That could all be undone if Beckford goes. The fans will be ready to turn 'especially on Bates' on the first thing that goes wron in the new season.

You can understand why we haven't spent money in so long when you look at the last person we spent money on! lol Im not too worried about the new stuff on Beckford to be honest
Gromjo
Why should he spend? When he can get players for nothing...And in my opinion I dont think Beckford will be going anywhere... ''Hopefully''

Sensible not to spend on rubbish or players that wont make the team better (look at Blackwell buying three £1m strikers in Blake, Creswell and Healey and then not knowing what to do with them). We need strengh in midfield with Delph and Douglas gone, maybe its Johnson but we also need mor width as robinson has flopped badly. If Becks goes we need A&E on the goalscoring front.
