LUFC Leeds also turned down Spurs bid
Leeds not only turned down a better bid from Manchester City but also Spurs as well for midfielder Fabian Delph, who has now completed his deal with the Midlands club.
The Whites who had already agreed a deal with Villa decided to stay true to their word and turn down the higher bids after they was impressed with the way that Villa went about their business.
Leeds even released a statement after the fee was agreed complimenting Villa on the way they went about the approach for Delph, and by going through all the correct channels.
Reports suggest that Leeds were particularly infuriated by the way that 'money bags` Manchester City went about their business.

Im not sure why the club has come out and told everyone this?..Maybe to show that there was great interest in Delph or else maybe just to ***** off City and Spurs! lol

I think Leeds are trying to score some browny points here. Delph said he wanted to join Villa so the Man City and Spurs bids were irrelevant - they were forced to accept Villa's bid by Delph. In this day and age when football has become so much about money I cannot see Leeds turning down more money even if they think City and Spurs have gone about things the wrong way. They're either lying, cutting off their nose to spite their face or stupid!

I think there's more to it, it's certainly not like Bates to say the things he's said and especially turn down the chance of more money.
Undisclosed fee! we have to give Bradford a certain percentage, I bet we are telling them we sold him for about £2 million!!
