LUFC Leeds receive bye in Trophy draw
Leeds United have been given a bye in the First Round of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy for the 2009/10 season.
16 clubs received byes, 8 from the Northern section and eight from the Southern.
When Leeds United joins the draw they will be in the North East section.
Byes
Northern Section:
Grimsby Town, Hartlepool United, LEEDS UNITED, Macclesfield Town, Notts County, Port Vale, Shrewsbury Town and Tranmere Rovers.
Southern Section:
Aldershot, Brighton and Hove Albion, Charlton Athletic, Exeter City, Leyton Orient, Southampton, Southend United and Swindon Town.
There are two Northern sections and two Southern sections, teams in the first round draw are:
North West:
Accrington Stanley, Bury, Carlisle United, Crewe Alexandra, Morecambe, Oldham Athletic, Stockport County and Walsall.
North East:
Bradford City, Burton Albion, Chesterfield, Darlington, Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City, Rochdale and Rotherham United.
South West:
AFC Bournemouth, Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham Town, Hereford United, Northampton Town, Torquay United, Wycombe Wanderers and Yeovil Town.
South East:
Barnet, Brentford, Colchester United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Gillingham, Millwall, MK Dons and Norwich City
The draw for the first round will take place on Soccer AM on Saturday 15th August.
The first round ties will take place week commencing 31st August.

Looks a strange set of groupings. Do you really think we should field our 'A' Team in this competition and risk injuries and cards ???

That's what I was thinking Erni putting out our first team. We cant afford injury's or suspensions? I hope Grayson will be thinking the same way.

Always play the best available, always make Subs when you get in front. It also breeds a winning mentality

The JPT to us is like the Carling cup to the top premiership teams...No need to play our full squad as its a chance to try out new things with new players...
Might be Caspers only chance to get a game all season!

We have a good strong reserve side who can come in and compete. I wouldn't be too bothered about this competition until we reached the semi final stages then the thought of a trip to Wembley.
