LUFC Grella looking forward to new season

Mike Grella finally scored his first senior goal for the club on Saturday and is hoping to play a part in Leeds push for promotion this season.

The 22 year old American came to the club in January and scored five goals for the club in his first two reserve games against Barnsley and Grimsby Town.

Grella struggled to make an impact during the second half of the season making only twelve substitute appearances, but after a good pre season for himself he can`t wait for the new season to begin.

Speaking on the official website Grella said 'There is a feeling we will get promoted and maybe I feel that more now because I feel more of a part of it.
'I feel very good and I'm happy enough to play my role. I feel I've done well, I've been good around the ball.
'I feel fantastic and I'm sure the whole team does.'
Now that he`s off the mark with his goal against Burnley Leeds fans will be hoping that he can carry on his good form into the new season.

It was difficult for him to make an impact last season cominbg on for four or five minutes at the end of games. He deserves a bit longer run this season although he wont be replacing becchio and beckford just yet.

He's done well in pre season, he's still going to find it hard to get in ahead of Beckford and Becchio but he might start to get a little longer on the pitch. He was hardly given any time at all during his time on the pitch last season.

He seems a class act, and only needs a few full games and we may see a star emerging. The last 5 minutes will never give him enough time. Good to know he's in the wings if we need a replacement... cetainly better than Showunmi!

Great to see him score his first goal last weekend! Hopefully it gives him the confidence to go on and be a quality replacement for Beckford and Becchio...
Gromjo
Quality player and will hopefully show what he's made off this season. Still hard to make an impression when coming off the bench all the time. Think we will see the best of him if Becchio or Becks pick up an injury.
