Grayson will find it hard to stand in Delph's way

Simon Grayson has admitted that he will struggle to stand in the way of Fabian Delph moving on if a club came in with the right bid.

Delph has been rumoured with a number of Premiership clubs since emerging on the scene at the start of last season, Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp admitted over the weekend that he`s been taking a close look at the England under 21 international.

The 19 year old impressed against Premiership opposition Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and Grayson is not looking forward to the day a Premiership club meet Leeds valuation of his player.

Speaking in the YEP Grayson said 'We're not talking about him going to a League One team - we're talking about top Premier League clubs coming in for him.
The hardest thing for us would be to accept a bid in the first place, but also to deny the player the chance to go to that level."

With the transfer window closing on the 31st August Grayson is adamant that the club will not sell him for anything less than their valuation, continuing he said "If none of the interested clubs reach the price we expect, he won't be going anywhere. We don't want to lose our best players on the cheap."

The clubs showing the most interest in recent weeks are Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

The latest rumoured valuation is 8 million.

If somebody comes up with that sort of cash then I wouldn't want Leeds to stand in his way. Then again whats the chances of tight wad Bates re investing any of it?
